These terms cover your purchase from Craftsman Creations, a sole proprietorship operating in Mariposa County, California. Placing an order means you accept them.
Orders
An order is an offer to buy. We accept it when the lamp ships. If we can't fill an order — a material shortage, a pricing error, an address we can't ship to — we cancel it and refund you in full, and we tell you why.
Pricing
Prices are in US dollars and can change without notice, but never after you've placed an order. Sales tax is calculated at checkout for California destinations.
Handmade variation
Each lamp is built by hand from cast and threaded stock. Dimensions are accurate to roughly a quarter inch, and finish, patina, and casting marks vary from piece to piece. Product photography is representative, not a portrait of the specific unit you'll receive. This variation is the product, not a defect — and if the piece you receive isn't what you hoped for, the 30-day return is there for exactly that.
Electrical safety
Lamps are wired with UL-listed components for 120V North American service. Do not exceed a 60W incandescent-equivalent bulb. Do not rewire, modify, or use the lamp outdoors or in a wet location. Modification voids the warranty and, more importantly, is how people get hurt.
Commissions
Custom work runs on a signed scope and a 50% deposit. The deposit becomes non-refundable once we cut material. Full terms are on the Commissions page.
Intellectual property
The designs, photography, and text on this site belong to Craftsman Creations. Buying a lamp gets you the lamp, not the right to reproduce the design commercially.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is capped at what you paid for the lamp. Nothing here limits liability for injury caused by our negligence, and nothing here waives your rights under California consumer law.
Governing law
California law governs, with venue in Mariposa County. Before anyone involves a court, email us — in fifteen years it has never gotten that far.
