About The Companion

The Companion sits low and looks straight ahead, muzzle glowing. The head is a raw brass socket shell set into an elbow, angled just far enough down to throw usable light across a desk instead of into your eyes. The tail is a length of pipe with a flange at the end — it counterweights the whole animal so it never tips forward.

It reads as a joke from across the room and as real metalwork up close. Threaded fittings, no welds, no glue. The head pivots roughly thirty degrees left and right so it can watch the door or watch you work.

Wired with UL-listed components and a twisted cloth cord in charcoal, with an inline rotary switch. Ships with a 40W amber ST64 Edison bulb already seated.

How it leaves Mariposa

There are two of us. One builds, one packs, and the same pair answers the email when something goes sideways.

Packed
Double-boxed with die-cut foam under the flange base and kraft paper wrapped around the pipe. The Edison bulb travels in its own sleeve rather than in the socket, so a hard drop cannot shatter it against the pipe.
Shipped
UPS Ground out of 4821 Highway 140, free anywhere in the continental US. Alaska and Hawaii are quoted at cost at checkout, and we ship to Canada on request. Tracking goes out the morning the box leaves the bench.
If it arrives wrong
Photograph the box and email hello@craftsmancreations.com. We rebuild or refund, and we cover return freight. Wiring and joints are covered for as long as you own the lamp; bulbs are consumable and we send spares at cost.
